Virginia Barlow has a great zest for life and loves her family. She likes to crochet, knit and quilt, and likes to make blankets for her grandchildren. She bakes a little and cooks when she has to. What was the inspiration behind writing your recent paranormal romance/fantasy, S'mores Siren Song? What sparked the initial idea?

I wanted to write a story about sirens and a ‘what if’ crossed my mind. What if the siren sang but the sailor was deaf? This sparked my imagination and u began to write.

Can you tell us more about your main character, Addie Townsend?

Addie Townsend is the product of a siren and her deaf human love who the matriarch of the siren pod cursed. Addie must make the kill her mother did not of die. She has until her twenty-fifth birthday to fulfill her destiny and one the kill is made, must choose between being human and a siren. 

Can you tell us more about her dilemma about choosing between being human and being a siren?

 Addie loves the sea and spends her nights calling to schools of fish for the locals. A big fishing company trawls the cove making it difficult for the locals to sustain their livelihood. Addie refuses to use her voice to lure a man to his death and time is ticking as she focuses on everything but her own problems.

Who is Commander Benjamin Yeates and is there a possible love connection between him and Addie? 

Commander Ben Yeates id a Coast Guard officer and Marine Biologist who volunteers for the job in Mystic Cove. Ever since he found a mermaid there as a youth, he’s been fascinated with the sea and wants to see if the mermaid is still alive. It is love at first sight when he slaps eyes on Addy. He doesn’t know she is the mythical creature he seeks, and he has a job to do. Investigate the lack of fish in Mystic Cove, and allegation Addy brought against the big fishing company determined to drive the locals out of business.

If this book were turned into a movie, who would you like to play Addie and who would you like to play Commander Benjamin Yeates?

I would like Ian Somerholder to play Commander Benjamin Yeates and Kate Beckinsale to  play Addie. 

Where does this story take place and why did you choose that location?

This story takes place in a make believe town named Mystic Cove, Maine. I invented this town because the criteria to be in the One Scoop of Two Series was the story must take place in a waterfront town.

Do you have any other projects in the works?

Devil’s Dominion is due out in October and I am just finishing a regency romance named Gamble of Hearts.
