After Jazz exposes one of the largest crime families in the country, quite by accident, she is hired to expose crime syndicate leader Michael Giambetti Jr., otherwise known as Achilles. Achilles earned his nickname because he has no weaknesses. He has no weaknesses, that is until he meets Jazz. Achilles has been untouchable, and if she were to break this case, she could finally prove herself as a serious undercover officer. Her job is not an easy one, and people around her are not who they appear to be. Will Gage come back for Jazz, or will he be lost to her forever? Will she crack the case on her own? Read as this courageous upstart stumbles through another adventure.

What was the inspiration behind writing your romantic suspense novel, Unorganized Crime? What sparked the initial idea?

Judy: Unorganized Crime is a spinoff of one of my older series called Easter's Lilly. Michael Giambetti, the star mobster in Unorganized Crime, is the son of a gangster in Easter's Lilly. Also, Hector is one of the main characters in the same series. Hector was a fan favorite back in the day. Jazz, the main character in Unorganized Crime, describes Hector like this … “Ah, Hector Montiago. He was quite the firecracker in his day. Even now, he could melt an ice cream cone with just his smile, leaving you glad that your hands were warm and sticky.” I literally fell in love with him myself. I loved the series so much that I just couldn’t let it go.

Can you tell us more about your main character, Jazz?

Judy: Jazz is strong yet vulnerable. She is fearless yet real. She wants to be taken seriously and jumping into this case costs her dearly. She is independent, determined, and quite the fighter. She is also witty, and her humor will keep you on your toes. I wish I was a little more like her sometimes.

Why is she so determined to wipe out organized crime forever? Does it hit close to home for her?

Judy: Her mother and father both worked for the FBI. As a result, her mom left them both because she couldn’t properly balance her job and her family. Both her parents were battling organized crime along with the man that she loved. She wanted to put an end to it almost as revenge for what organized crime did to her life.

Who is Gage St. Claire?

Judy: Gage worked with her parents when they were involved with the FBI. He was a little older than she was (not in a gross way) and he wouldn’t admit to having feelings for her. He left her in the beginning of the novel (before anything happened between them) to start his own team that he called STORM. The irony is that Gage is a storm all on his own.

If this book were turned into a movie, who would you like to play Jazz and who would you like to play Gage?

Judy: Gage would be Chris Hemsworth, and Jazz would be Julianne Hough. I see Gage totally as a Thor, a force to be reckoned with, swinging his hammer. I have been a huge fan of Miss Hough ever since I saw her on Dancing with the Stars. She is strong, beautiful, and she lights up a room.

What area did you choose as your setting and why did you choose it?

Judy: The story takes place in Las Vegas because that is where the character lived in my previous series. Las Vegas also has a reputation for harboring gangsters.

Do you have any projects in the works?

Judy: I started a book a few months ago relating to masks and COVID. It is another gangster story. I am also rereading Unorganized Crime so that I can finish the sequel. I started book 2 right after I finished book 1, but I never finished it. I have had quite a few requests for me to do just that, so I am on it. Gage has a best friend who had a side story in Unorganized Crime. His story needs to be told.
