Welcome Theresa! Your book, NightBorn, sounds absolutely awesome. Can you tell us the story behind that intriguing title?
The title came to me while researching shared dreaming. I wanted something that captured both mystery and origin the idea of something powerful being born out of the darkness of the unconscious. NightBorn felt like the perfect way to suggest a force emerging from the dream world, literally being born into waking reality.
Can you tell us a little about your main characters?
At the centre is Alice Sinclair, a psychology professor whose rational world collapses when she begins appearing in other people’s dreams. She’s intelligent, sceptical, and suddenly thrust into a global mystery. The people around her- colleagues, friends, and shadowy figures with hidden agendas - form a web of trust and betrayal that keeps Alice constantly questioning who she can rely on.
Where is your book set and why did you choose that particular location?
It’s set in the present day mainly in Florida USA - the land of dreams and also in central London. I chose a realistic setting that has dreamy elements because I wanted the surreal dream events to feel even more unsettling. When strange things happen in an ordinary world, the psychological impact is far more intense.
What part would you say was the most exciting to write about?
The moment Alice realises the nightmares she’s experiencing aren’t hers alone and that thousands of strangers are dreaming about her too. Writing that shift from personal mystery to global phenomenon was electrifying; it’s where the story truly ignites.
What’s next for you?
I’m developing my next fiction project, which will continue exploring consciousness, dreams and psychological tension but from a fresh angle. I’m also working on more non-fiction publishing my next title Your Twin Flame Journey: The Soul's Most Passionate Connection in February and then another title after that called Moon Power. I'm a serial author and never happier than when dreaming up new titles.
